Shelley Northern is a Washington native. She grew up in the Skagit Valley and moved to the Spokane area in 2003 in an effort to be closer to her extended family. She earned her nursing degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and completed her nurse-practitioner degree in 2008 from the University of Washington. Since becoming a nurse in 1994, Shelley has dedicated her professional life to providing care to women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, as well as, gynecology, family planning and perimenopausal transitions. In addition to direct patient care, Shelley has also taught undergraduate and graduate nursing students at both Washington State University and Gonzaga University. She has been a guest lecturer at various obstetric nursing conferences in the Pacific Northwest.
Shelley strives to provide supportive and quality care to each and every woman she sees in clinic. She is passionate about women’s health and enjoys the work of guiding her patients through the various phases and challenges life can bring both physically and emotionally.
Shelley and her husband are busy raising three children, including a daughter with special needs. She is a fan of hot yoga, soul spin and time with friends and family in an effort to keep a healthy work life balance. She also enjoys being at the Lake, paddle boarding, and creating delicious food for her family.
